President Muhammadu Buhari has endorsed the All Progressives Congress APC candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-iyamu for the Edo State governorship election on September 19 2020.
The move followed a closed door meeting of the President with some APC Governors and Ize-iyamu at the presidential villa on Friday.
Ize-iyamu who got the nod to fly the flag of the APC had not been lucky to see Mr President or have his endorsement months after he was made candidate of the party.
Report has it that prior to Buhari’s endorsement, the Edo APC was skeptical of the Presidency’s support as it was learnt that attempts made by the candidate to see the President proved unsuccessful.
The endorsement by the President,who is leader of the APC will no doubt redirect the mood and tone of campaigns which are becoming theatres of violence.
