The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC, said, it has granted,Martins Innocent Otse popularly called Very Dark Mark, Adminstrative bail and would release him when he meets the bail condition.
VDM was arrested last Thursday shortly after exiting the Guaranty Trust Bank ( GTB) premises at Area 3 ,Garki, Abuja
On Monday, protests broke out in Abuja demanding the release of the social media influencer.
But taking to its Social media handle on X ,on Tuesday,the EFCC said that VDM has been granted administrative bail and would be released upon perfection of his bail condition.
“The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission , EFCC,in the exercise of his mandate of tackling economic and financial crimes , invited Martins Innocent Otse owing to a series of petitions bordering on sundry issues of alleged financial crimes raised against him ” the Commission said in part.
The Agency clarified that despite several invitations to VDM to appear before it, he refused to show up.
It said that the petitions raised against VDM amounts to grave allegations of financial misconduct which cannot be overlooked adding “The EFCC has a lawful right to hold Otse in custody like any other suspect being investigated by the Commission ‘
