The Nigerian Senate on Wednesday sacked the Senator representing Bornu South ,Ali Ndume as Chief Whip of the Senate.
Consequently, the Senate named Senator Tahir Monguno ( APC Borno North)as replacement.
Ndume’s replacement by the upper chamber followed a letter written by the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress APC,Dr Abdullahi Ganduje and National Secretary, Senator Bashir Ajibola to the Senate.
The request was put to voice vote by the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio during plenary and was affirmed by all the APC senators.
Ndume’s journey to sack as a principal officer of the Senate began after he publicly chided President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s government.
Last week, the ranked senator had said that the President has been” caged ” in the Presidential Villa and that some forces are preventing well – meaning people from physically discussing the truth with him. Ndume claimed that the situation did not allow the president to be aware of the hunger in the country.
