The Acting Inspector General of Police,Olatunji Disu has assumed office following his decoration with new rank by President Bola Tinubu.
The event which took place at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Wednesday.had among others,Disu’s wife,Mrs Olufunmilola Tunji Disu in attendance.

Disu was appointed Tuesday following the resignation of Kayode Egbetokun.on Tuesday.
Egbetokun, appointed by Tinubu on June 19,2023 had cited family issues as reason for his resignation although reports indicate he may have been forced out of office..
Disu, a smart and brave officer who had served in various offices took his first salute as Inspector-General from members of the Quarter Guard and police officers at the Force Headquarters after returning from the Villa at about 4:25 p.m.
Egbetokun and Disu then proceeded to the official handover ceremony.
