
Daughter of Nigeria’s President , Folashade Tinubu-Ojo says the federal government plans to establish National Market Council of Nigeria (NMCN) .
Tinubu – Ojo who is the Iyaloja General of Nigeria revealed that the NMCN would boost SMEs and petty businesses in the country.
The Iyaloja General made this known at the opening of the 38th Annual FOMWAN Confab in Sokoto.
While applauding the association for its strides in promoting Islam and urged Muslim women not to relent in propagating the religion which she noted was built on the principle of knowledge, equity, just and fairness with the fear of God,She explained that the primary objective of the council was to further ease and expand business activities of traders . through single digit interest loan to advance the country’s economy.
In his keynote address, entitled Societal Reorientation: Islam as an Embodiment of Societal Values for Growth, Development and Morality ,the Registrar of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board JAMB, Professor Ishaq Oloyede said FOMWAN as a forefront mobiliser of Women should give direction and guidance to society on the fundamentals of Islam while calling on the association to shun ” abnormalities and other evils capable of influencing your faith”
Oloyede urged the association to encourage good governance and not ascribe success to self saying it is an act of demonising Allah who controls ” every act of our activity”.
He also called on FOMWAN to embrace fervent prayer against wrong happenings to Muslims globally.
The roll call of dignitaries included the First Lady and Wife of the President, Senator Oluremi Tinubu represented by APC deputy National Women Leader, Zainab Ibrahim and Wife of the Vice President , Nana Shettima
Sokoto state Governor, Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto was the Special Guest of Honour and host, who called on FOMWAN to support the fight against insecurity in the North especially in the northwest and Nigeria at large by providing space for topical discuss to end the menace.
Other dignitaries included Sultan Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko and the Emir of Argungu, Muhammad Sama’ila Mera .
