Onome Godfrey,a 35- year old woman has been charged to court in Lagos for biting off the ear of her rival, Cordelia Chinwoba ,during a fight.
The incident was said to have taken place at their residence at Ifedore Street,Yamco area of Ayobo,Lagos.
The two women reportedly had a disagreement which led to exchange of words and later degenerated to a public fight . In the process, Onome grabbed Cordelia’s ear and bit it off and it fell on the ground.
The cut in the ear led to serious bleeding and the victim was rushed to the hospital for treatment .The incident was reported to the Divisional Police Station,Ayobo where a team of police was sent to arrest the suspect.
The police reportedly interrogated her and found her deserving of blame and arraigned her before the Ogba Magistrate Court ifor the alleged offence and she pleaded not guilty.
Following her not guilty plea, the police counsel, ,Benson Emerhi asked the court to give a date for hearing to enable the police to prove her culpability.
The Presiding Magistrate,A.S.Adegun, granted her bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum and ordered her remand in Correctional Center at Kirikiri town pending when she will meet her bail conditions.
The matter was adjourned to 14th October,2020, for mention.
