An aspirant for the forthcoming local government election in Akwa Ibom State, Etim Ukim, has taken his intent forms to a shrine .
Ukim, an aspirant of Ward 7, in Ureoffiong Oruko Local Government Area was said to have visited his ward deity on Thursday to pray for his election.
He was said to have placed the two nomination forms in front of the deity before kneeling and praying with a bottle of gin and palm fronds to seek blessing as the traditional religion demands.
But, reactions have trailed his patronage of deity, many have condemned the councillorship aspirant for seeking shrines in a period of Christianity, .Others saw nothing wrong saying’It is a village practice” adding they hoped the deity would deliver him on election day.
