Protests rocked some parts of the country following President Buhari’s adjustment of petrol pump price to N161 per litre.
Placard carrying Protesters in Kano, took to the streets on Thursday, to demand the resignation of President Buhari for bad policies especially the increase in the price of fuel.
Describing the increase as wicked and lacking compassion for the plight of the masses, the protesters said that the policies were further compounded by the lack of employment opportunities available to the masses who struggle to survive daily.
The protesters who spoke in Hausa said they were protesting among others, the increase in petrol pump price which they claimed was borne out of inconsideration for the masses, Insecurity in the country, Stealing, Killing, unemployment and idleness and said they do not want to bear the pains anymore.
According to them, the price of petrol that was increased is like beating the poor”We are buying foodstuffs at expensive prices,then there is VAT and also increase in taxes, police harassing innocent citizens,too much is wrong in Nigeria.Buhari must resign” They said.
The Protesters accused the president of further stifling the lives of the poor adding”It is wickedness to increase the price of petrol.He does not know that the poor man is toiling and that life is not sweet for the poor man.
” He does not know the challenges we face daily,we are suffering Someone who earns N60,000 cannot buy a bag of rice and keep it at home because it is expensive,no food,our hospitals are in disrepair,our roads are bad,no airline wants to come to the North.President Buhari should resign.This is our request today”.They said
