Invigilators of the ongoing West African Senior School Certificate Examination WASSCE in Bright Academy, Ghana narrowly escaped death as students angry over the strict compliance with sitting apart got angry and assaulted them mercilessly.
The students were said to have beaten up the officials, inflicting injuries on some and destroyed their mobile phones.
An online news portal,BBC Ghana said that the students were annoyed that the supervisors were too strict for them to bear.
Current matters learnt that the students were unhappy with the Covid-19 protocol of social distancing which the invigilators insisted must be complied with.
The unruly behavior of the students reportedly forced the WAEC officials and media men at the scene to run for their lives.even as their personal valuables were destroyed by the students.
The report says police have been deployed to the school to restore normalcy.
