
Bayelsa State Governor,Douye Diri, has shunned calls for defection to the All Progressives Congress APC, describing the move as political suicide.
In a statement issued by Kola Oredipe his media aide, the governor expressed total commitment and loyalty to the PDP saying he had no reason to leave the party.
He dismissed the APC as a party with no structures in Bayelsa State and said the call on him to jump ship was unfortunate.
Bayelsa APC Chieftain, and former Deputy Governor, Peremobowei Ebebi had called on the the governor to emulate other goverrnors and decamp to the APC
So far, the APC dragnet has caught three governors out of four earlier reported.They are Dave Umahi ( Ebonyi),r,Ben Ayade(Cross Rivers and Bello Matawalle (Zamfara State ).
More governors are said to be planning on defecting to the APC . The development had caused a stir within the opposition party as the party in a statement by its Publicity Secretary,Mr Kola Ologbondiyan vowed to take legal action against defectors
