Saturday, December 20, 2025, will remain a memorable day for the families and friends of Senator Barry Mpigi and his wife, Mrs. Patricia Mpigi, as their eldest daughter, Lelebari Blessing Mpigi, fondly known as Lele, exchanged marital vows with her heartthrob before God and man.
The solemnisation of the Holy Matrimony took place at the Holy Cross Catholic Church, Gwarimpa, Abuja, where Catholic priest, Bishop Anslem Umoren officiated the sacred ceremony. The ambience of reverence and joy set the tone for what would later become a grand celebration of love, unity, and family.
Following the church service, guests were treated to a lavish wedding reception at the National Christian Centre, Central Area, Abuja, where elegance and warmth blended seamlessly.
The reception was a roll call of distinguished personalities, particularly from the political class, including serving and former members of the upper and lower chambers of the National Assembly, as well as leaders from the third tier of government.
Notable dignitaries in attendance included Senator Osita Izunaso, Senator Victor Umeh, Senator Abba Moro, Senator Agom Jarigbe, and Senator Magnus Abe. Also present were Honourable members of the House of Representatives, including Rt. Hon. Felix Nwaeke and Hon. Maurice Pronen, alongside many other eminent guests who gathered to celebrate and bless the couple.
The programme featured Justice Suzette Wike, wife of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, as the Special Guest of Honour. Representing her husband, Justice Wike delivered a warm charge to the couple, emphasising love, understanding, patience, and commitment as the bedrock of a successful marital life
.Senator Victor Umeh served as Chairman of the occasion, while Ambassador Desmond Akawor was the Guest of Honour.
Highlights of the colourful reception included goodwill messages from family and friends, separate step-in dance performances by the groom’s and bride’s families, as well as the much-anticipated Dance of the Couple, which featured both English and traditional styles. Other attractions, including mind-sport entertainment, added sparkle and excitement to the joyous celebration.
The wedding ceremony was a perfect blend of solemnity, culture, and high-profile camaraderie—an event befitting the union of two families joined in love.
