Okoligwe was arrested in 2023 after neighbours raised alarm of his attempt to dispose of Justina:s body which he allegedly killed and dismembered for money rituals.
This publication understands that a neighbour had earlier reported a foul smell from his room to the Ozuoba Police Station and in a swift reaction, the police arrived at the scene and forced the door open and discovered a Ghana – must – go bag containing the dismembered remains of Justina Otuene.
Delivering Judgement on Friday , the trial Judge, Justice Chiwen Nsirim Nwosu held that the prosecution led by Charles Obadiah Mbaba proved its case beyond reasonable doubt that Okoligwe committed the offence .
“Justina was the only daughter of her parents, but was gruesomely murdered by Damian Okoligwe for ritual” purposes , prosecutor Mbaba said after the judgement.
He praised the court for ensuring that justice is served.
