The Governor of Enugu State,Peter Mbah on Tuesday, formally announced his defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a “partner in purpose” and a leader with the courage to take tough decisions that ensure lasting prosperity.
During a ceremony to mark his entry into the ruling party,Mbah said his decision was driven by shared values of transformation and vested commitment to inclusive governance and infrastructure development.
“Today, in joining the All Progressives Congress, we are embracing a visionary partnership,” Mbah said. “I have found in His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, not just a leader of our nation, but a partner in purpose, a man with the courage to look beyond today and make the tough choices that secure lasting prosperity for tomorrow.”
Mbah praised Tinubu’s commitment to the Southeast, noting that the President’s administration has shown “not only interest, but a deep-vested commitment to Enugu,” describing the region as “a pillar of national progress.”
According to the governor, the president and himself also share the belief that national renewal goes beyond the cities to the wards and grassroots where the ordinary people live.
“We both share a belief that renewal does not stop at the grand highways or the balance sheets,” Mbah added. “It must reach the wards, the villages, and our grassroots, the daily life of the farmer.”
