The gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) in Kogi, Dino Melaye has asked the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC to cancel elections in five Local Government Areas in the State.
The areas the candidate is seeking cancellation are reportedly strongholds of the ruling All Progressives Congress APC
It was gathered that the APC Candidate, Usman Ododo who hails from Igbiraland may be leading in a landslide in Okene, Adavi , Ajaokuta and Ogori magogogo, the areas Melaye listed for cancellation.
Melaye took his frustration to X as he wrote
: “INEC must cancel the election in the 5 local governments of Kogi central. The election in Okene, Okehi, Ajaoukuta, Adavi, and Ogori/Mangogo is a scam coordinated from the highest level of INEC.
Earlier, Dino Melaye and his followers were reported to have boycotted the exercise following unconfirmed glitches, however reports indicated that the governoship candidate left on assumption that the election had been compromised.
