
President Bola Tinubu has appointed Ola Olukoyede as the Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Olukoyede previously served as Secretary to the EFCC, and was among officials of the commission suspended by former President Muhammadu Buhari in connection with the probe of a former EFCC chairman, Ibrahim Magu.
The new EFCC boss also served as Chief of Staff to Magu before he was appointed Secretary to the Commission.
A statement by Ajuri Ngelale, the presidential spokesman said Olukoyede’s appointment followed the resignation of Abdulrasheed Bawa.
Bawa, the immediate past Chairman of the Anti – graft agency was suspended in June following allegations of sharp practices in the commission.
