The main campus of the Gombe State University, Gombe on Saturday was thrown into confusion over the murder of a day-old baby thrown from the window of the second floor of the female hostel.
The remains of the newborn were found in the early hours of Saturday by passersby near Hall IV of the female hostels .
Our reporter gathered that they immediately raised alarm but discovered that the baby was already dead.
The school authority said a lady had been identified as the culprit and the police have taken over the matter. “Throwing an innocent day -old baby to death is a serious crime ” Mohammed Abubakar, the University’s Spokesman told newsmen.
Another source in the school alleged that the lady hid the pregnancy wearing hijab and decided to throw the baby away when she was unable to secure marital relationship with the father of the baby.
