World No 6, Coco Gauf has beaten Jelena Ostapenko to secure a place in the Semi finals of the Women’s singles in the ongoing US Open Tennis Tournament in New York
The 19- year old American won Latvia’s Ostapenko in two straight set 6-0,6-2 to move into her first US Open Semi finals
The match which lasted an hour eight minutes was decided at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York City, on Tuesday, September 5, 2023.
Ostapenko who was beaten by Gauf had earlier sent Iga Swatek, the world no 1 packing from the tournament.
The American teenager will on Thursday face either Karolina Muchova, Czech professional or Sorana Cirstea of Romania .
