Breaking Kano tribunal sacks Reps member over certificate forgery. 

The National and State House of Assembly elections petition tribunal sitting in Kano has nullified the election of Muktar Yerima , the member representing Tarauni Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives.

Yerima was declared winner of the February 18th 2023 election under the platform of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), defeating the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Hafizu Kawu.

But Kawu a former member of the House of Representatives, petitioned the tribunal, challenging the legitimacy of Yerima’s victory on the basis of a fake certificate.

Delivering the judgement on Thursday, the three – member panel of justices upheld Kawu’s petition and nullified the election of Yerima.
