The Chairman of Police Service Commission (PSC), Musiliu Smith has resigned from office.
Smith ,a former Inspector General of Police, reportedly resigned amid crisis in the recruitment of Police constables which has pitched the commission against the Nigeria Police Force.( NPF).
The PSC had opened its portal for the recruitment of constables for the year 2022 and placed an advert on a national newspaper.
The move irked the NPF which through its Public Relations Officer, CSP Olumiyiwa Adejobi urged Nigerians to disregard the advertisement saying” it has not commenced the 2022 constables recruitment into the Nigeria Police Force contrary to a publication on page 21 of the Daily Sun Newspaper of August 11,2022″..
Smith is expected to hand over to Retired Justice Clara Ogunbiyi representing the judiciary at the commission.
