
Zambia’s founding father and former president, Kenneth Kaunda popularly called KK has died after battling with undisclosed ailment. He was said to be in stable condition late last week.
Kaunda was 97.
He was the first president of Zambia after the country gained independence on 24 October,1964
Kaunda was voted out of office in 1991 by a multi- party movement headed by his successor, Frederick Chiluba.
Kaunda wrote his biography summed up in his 1962 Book,, Zambia Shall Be Free where he exposed the ills of colonial rule and emphasized the power of democracy in freeing his country men from colonial clutches.
Other books authored by Kaunda include, Letter to my Children released in 1973 and The Riddle of Violence released in 1981.
