
Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum on Saturday visited hunters who sustained injuries following Boko Haram landmine attack.
The Hunters were reportedly attacked while on patrol along the Sambisa forest after receiving an alert that the Boko Haram terrorists had rustled cattle from one of the villages close by
The attack instantly claimed the lives of 7 hunters while 16 were injured.
According to the Commissioner of Sports and Empowerrment,Sainma Buba,11 out of the 16 injured have been discharged after treatment from the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital.
The Borno Government had only a few days ago equipped Hunters and vigilante groups with vehicles and other things needed to challenge Boko Haram to help in providing the much needed security in the state.
