Bandits in large numbers in the early hours of Wednesday, stormed Gudu town in Sokoto state and reportedly set it on fire.
According to the reports, residents of the community who saw the rampaging armed men ran into the bush to avoid being abducted and killed.
It was gathered that attack by bandits has become a recurring act in the community and others in the state and the armed men are notorious for kidnapping, killing and carting away possesions including animals.
There has been no official response to the attack from the police and state government so far .
