EndSARS protesters regain freedom as court grants them bail

A Magistrate Court in Abuja on Wednesday, granted #EndSARS protesters bail five days after they were thrown in prison custody.

The protesters were arrested in front of the National Assembly complex and were denied bail by the court which ordered their remand in prison custody.

Those arrested include Oluwatosin Adeniyi,Paul Akinwumi,Davo Chomo,Abdulsalam Zuberu,Kabiru Gasali and Yasiru Bashir

, The Magistrate, Abdulrasak Eneye while ruling on the bail application filed by the defence counsel,Tope Akinyode granted the defendants bail of N50,000 each and one surety in like sum.

The Court held that the sureties must be citizens of Nigeria with veritable means of identification who must also deposit N50,000 and copies of their means of identification as well as livelihood to the court

He thereafter adjourned the case to January 25,2020 for hearing
