Three people confirmed dead in boat mishap in Adamawa 

Three persons have drowned in a boat accident along a river in Lamorde,a local government area on Adamawa’s border with Gombe state.

The deceased,two men and a woman, along with other passengers were said to be on their way to attend a funeral programme when the boat conveying them capsized.

The Chairman of Lamorde Local Government Area,Burto Williams, confirmed the incident and said the local government needed intervention urgently.

He described the accident as a tragedy that required government to come to the aid of the people of the area “who are constantly being ravaged by cascading water.”
