Northern Governors Forum says the allegations of one of the northern Governors being a Commander of Boko Haram was too weighty to ignore
To this end, the forum has called for thorough Investigation into the weighty allegations made by Mailafia.
In a statement in Abuja, the Forum Chairman,Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State said that the forum had been working with the federal government security agencies, community,civil society, religious leaders as well as development partners to defeat terrorism banditry and other forms of crime in the region and found the allegations very weighty.
The statement reads” We as Northern Governors have met severally to discuss insecurity in the northern region and the nation at large where we did not only condemn the activities of terrorists groups such as Boko Haram, bandits,armed robbers, Kidnappers and other criminals,but also engaged the President and all heads of security agencies in finding solutions to the problem”
He asked Mailafia and indeed all citizens with useful information on the activities of criminals and terrorists groups to assist security agencies and government at all levels for such intelligence for proper action
Lalong however hoped that such allegations were not mere smear campaigns intended to discourage the northern governors who are putting in so much effort to bring to an end the problem of insecurity in the region.
