The Minister of Niger Delta Affairs Godswill Akpabio appears to be in a cycle of unending trouble as House of Representatives vows to use laws of the land against him if he failed within48hours to provide evidence for members who collected contracts from the Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC.
Speaker Femi Gbajabiamala who gave the warning on Tuesday plenary said Akpabio is given”48hours to publish the names, contracts so given, dates because all those things will be documented,unveil the companies of the 60% projects that were given to members of the National Assembly, failing which the house will bring the full wrath of the law for defamation.”
Gbajabiamala’s reaction followed Akpabio’s testimony on Monday where he accused the National Assembly of being beneficiaries of 60% of the NDDC contracts
Defamation is defined in section 373 of the criminal code as a matter likely to injure the reputation of any person by exposing him to hatted,contempt or ridicle
