French driver,Phillipe Monguillot who was beaten by passengers refusing to wear mask has died in hospital according to the French Prime Minister,Jean Castex and the victim’s family.
Monguillot 59,was said to be brain dead after the attack in the South Western City of Bayonne on July 5,
His family told French News Agency,Agence France-Perre that they decided to switch off the life support on Friday to let him go,
The victim’s 18year old daughter Marie Monguillot said ” We decided to let him go.The doctors were in favour and we as well”
Reports say the attack occurred last Sunday evening at 7:30 in a bus traveling to Blarritz after the bus driver checked the ticket of one of the men and asked all four men without masks to wear their face masks which are mandatory in French public transport operations.
All four men responsible for the assault it was learnt were detained and charged.
