The Mississipi State Legislature has passed a bill to change the states flag.
Reports say the bill having been passed will now go to the Mississipi Governor, Tate Reeves for accent.
Gov Reeves had said he would sign legislation that state lawmakers send him to remove the confederate insignia.
The legislature made up of the House and the Senate passed the bill following weeks of protest drawing attention to racial injustice in thé country.
The bill establishes a commission to develop a new flag design with the Phrase ” ln God We Trust”.
