
United States Human Rights leader and politician,Rev Jesse Jackson has died at the age of 84, according to a statement by his Rainbow PUSH Coalition- a non profit social justice organisation
The organization said Jackson,died Tuesday morning surrounded by his family
Jackson,a protege of the Rev Martin Luther King Jnr,had been hospitalised for progressive supranuclear palsy
” His unwavering commitment to justice, equality, and human rights helped shape a global movement for freedom and dignity. A timeless change agent,he elevated the voices of the voiceless – from his Presidential campaigns in the 1980s to mobilising millions to register to vote.- leaving an indelible mark on history” the statement read.
