The Federal Ministry of Transportatlion has announced the ground breaking for the construction of the Kano-Katsina–Jibia-Maradi Rail line.
The event which will hold at the proposed Katsina Railway station, Makira, at 10.a.m will be performed by President Muhammadu Buhari.
A statement signed by the Permanent Secretary Dr Magdalene Ajani said, the Minister for Transportation,Rt Hon. Rotimi Amaechi and the Minister for state for Transportation, Senator Gbemisola Saraki have extended invitation to all stakeholders in the Transportation Industry and the general public to attend the event
The 284 km cross border Kano-Katsina-Jibia-Maradi line was awarded to a Portuguese construction firm,Mota-Engil in January 2021,at $1.96 bn including value added tax. The project is part of the Federal Government’s plan to boost economic growth in the country.
