The Crime Reporters Global Nigeria has charged all Security Agencies to without delay review and restrategise to be able to defeat renewed surge of terrorists’ onslaught in the country.
The association gave the charge in Abuja during a regular situation review session anchored by its National Chairman, Comrade Tita Onyebuchi Nze and Secretary General, Barth Ikiebe, while reacting to the renewed rampage by bandits and armed gunmen in some parts of the country.
“It is becoming an unbecoming situation and very worrisome to hear tales of woes by victims of these attacks, therefore, there is urgent need for security agencies in Nigeria to step up their games and quickly review their strategies so as to checkmate activities of these hoodlums and criminal elements”.
The Crime Reporters Global expresses deep concern and sadness over the incidents in Kebbi, Kwara, Niger States and killing of a Senior military officer in Borno.
“We call on the Military, Police, DSS and other security and paramilitary agencies to work in synergy to subdue these crimes and criminalities in Nigeria.
According to the statement, the Federal government should urgently work out modalities to contain the renewed surge of Kidnapping, abduction and activities of gunmen that operate with impunity, as if there is no government in place.
“Also government in all tiers of authority should wake up to their responsibility of safeguarding the lives and property of all citizens no matter their location”.
The Crime Reporters Global, however, apealled to school owners, Community leaders, other stakeholders to take security issues very seriously and endeavour to adhere strictly to security advisories to check unexpected attack.
Recently, there have been incidents of abduction of school children in Kebbi and Niger States.
