
In a bid to enhance technological , vocational and entrepreneurial education,President Bola Tinubu has approved the establishment of a Federal Polytechnic in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
The Polytechnic to be known as Bola Tinubu Polytechnic will be sited in Gwarimpa,a satellite town in the FCT.
According to a letter from the Minister of Education,Tunji Alausa, the Ministry of the FCT has therefore been directed to propose temporary and permanent sites for the new institution.
The approval for a Federal Polytechnic in Abuja increases the number of public tertiary institutions to two, the first being the University of Abuja founded in 1988.
The FCT currently has 7 universities approved by the National University Commission, NUC, but six are private.
