The Ondo State Police Command says it has rescued eight out of 25 members of the Christ Apostolic Church ( CAC) who were abducted on Friday.
The victims, said to be choristers of the CAC Oke Igan, Akure, Ondo State were reportedly attacked and kidnapped by gunmen on Friday evening on the Benin- Akure expressway.
They were said to be travelling to Ifon, for a burial ceremony, when the gunmen attacked and forced them into bush.
But in a fresh development on Saturday,the Public Relations Officer of the Command,Mrs Funmilayo Odunlami said that eight of the victims had been rescued while efforts were on to” rescue others unhurt “
