The All Progressives Congress APC House of Reps. screening committee has reportedly disqualified three serving House of Reps members loyal to Rivers State Governor,Sir Siminialayi Fubara from participating in Saturday’s (tomorrow’s) primaries, while clearing all allies of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike.
According to a Press Release reportedly issued by the state publicity s secretary of the party,Mr Chibuike IKenga said those disqualified include:
- Hon. Anderson Alisson
- Hon. Abiante Awaji Imombek
- Hon. Boma Goodhead
Those cleared are:
- Hon. Hart Cyril
- Hon. Blessing Amadi
- Hon. Dumnamene Detor
- Hon. Martin Amaewhule (Replaces OK Chinda who bought the APC governorship forms)
- Hon. Solomon Bob
- Hon. Uche Felix Nwaeke
- Hon. Victor Chukwuemele Obuzor
Also cleared are other aspirants allied to the minister to replace the three disqualified Rep members.
The disqualified lawmakers were among federal lawmakers in the state who stood by the governor during the political crisis in Rivers State. .
The list comes just few hours to the party primary.
The APC had announced late Thursday that it has shifted the House of Representatives primary to Saturday, May 16
However, with the release of clearance and disqualification notification coming barely hours away from the primary, there is no indication that those disqualified would have a fair window of appeal .
The development comes days after over sixty supporters of Governor Fubara aspiring for various constituencies in the House of Assembly were disqualified by the screening committee.
According to the Appeal Committee, fifty eight ( 58) of those not cleared appeared before the screening committee with relevant documents to clear their path for the primary but the outcome of the appeal has yet been announced.
