The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress APC,Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda has warned that the party’s prospects are bleak if it continues to support the concept of impartial “technocrats” and has demanded that only party members who are prepared to publicly align with the APC be appointed to party positions.
Yilwatda gave the warning on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, on TV Platinum, Yilwatda while addressing party members and government officials on discipline, loyalty, and general election preparations for 2027.
He said” In 2027, as a party chairman, I will stand strong to defend the position that if you’re not prepared to join us, you shouldn’t be given appointment,”
According to him, professional credentials are not enough to maintain political power; party loyalty and voter support are also crucial. Having party members in political office is something we wholeheartedly endorse and back.
“The party will never be able to regain power if everyone here decides to become a technocrat”. saying winning elections is more important than having technical knowledge when it comes to running a country
“The votes hold the key” Yilwatda. said
Speaking further he said,Everybody who is called is a technocrat,” insisting that one’s professional qualifications do not absolve them of political responsibilities. A technocrat is someone who works in the technical field.
But if you accept a political appointment, you can’t help but be a politician. Brief and uncomplicated. In 2027, Yilwatda promised to defend the notion that no one should be appointed to a post if they were not ready to join the party, reiterating his position as party leader.
