Nigeria’s Super Eagles have booked a spot in the semi final in the ongoing 2025 African Cup of Nations in Morocco.
The encounter decided at the Marrakesh Stadium in Marrakesh, Morocco on Saturday, January 10,2026 had Nigeria defeat the desert warriors by 2 goals to nil.
Galatassary forward, Victor Osimhen scored the first goal after a brilliant pass by Ademola Lookman few minutes into the second half.
The second goal scored by Adams Akor through a selfless pass by Osimhen sealed Nigeria’s victory.
By the win, Nigeria will slug it out with the host country, Morocco in the Semi final.
The Super Eagles are the top scorers with 14 goals in five games. The team registered a win against Tanzania, Tunisia and Uganda at the group stage and demoralised Mozambique with a four goal- 0 defeat at the knockout stage moving up to the quarter finals where they also displayed mastery of the game by rolling out a humiliating 2-0 defeat against Algeria . The Super Eagles are appearing in the AFCON semi final for the 17th time.
