
The Chinese Embassy in Nigeria has reacted cautiously to the allegations made by 12 Nigerian workers recently rescued from CAR, who accused their Chinese employers of sexual abuse & non-payment of salaries. The Embassy said it will investigate the issue, it emphasised that the allegations are being taken seriously and that due process will be followed.
The Nigerian Workers were rescued by the Federal Government after a video of their depressive condition went viral.
The group arrived in Abuja two weeks ago and were received by the Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission,Abike Dabiri
Recounting their ordeal , leader of the group,Igorigo Freeborn alleged that they were homosexually abused and subjected to months of unpaid labour.
” We were homosexually abused by our Chinese in CAR. I am not ashamed to say it ,I want other people to learn from it ” he said
