
Kate Sam – Ngbor,a former Chairman of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ,Rivers State Chapter was last Wednesday conferred with an honorary chieftaincy title ” BIRABEKE NEEWA 1 of KPITE TAI meaning”Chief of Female Politician 1 of Tai by the Gbenemene of Tai Kingdom and paramount ruler of Kpite – in Council,King Samuel Nnee.

The conferment of Chieftaincy title on Mrs Sam – Ngbor stemmed from her “immense contribution to the promotion of the culture and tradition as well as mental beneficence through quality show of commitment to the Kpite – Tai community and Rivers State at large “King Nnee had cited as reason for the conferment of the Chieftaincy title on Mrs Mgbor

During the ceremony, the King said they have hope in God that the recipient and “other progressive like – minds will complement the throne by promoting her vision and mission statement.”

While acknowledging Ngbor’s meritorious services towards the development of the” growing land of Kpite – Tai”, King Nnee said by the conferment”,Chief ( Mrs) Kate Sam – Ngbor has become a full member of the Kpite – Grand Council of Chiefs and Elders and enjoys all rights and privileges due to members.”
In her remark, the BIRABEKE NEEWA 1 of KPITE TAI,Chief ( Mrs Kate Sam – Ngbor, expressed gratitude to the Gbenemene Tai Kingdom for his benevolence

She said” I’m humbled and overwhelmed. People still see the value in my dedication to humanity and hard work in our community.
“Today,I was honoured with the Chieftaincy title of BIRABEKE NEEWA 1 of KPITE -TAI. I’m now Chief ( Mrs) Kate Sam – Ngbor. All glory to God “.
Highlights of the programme included the placement of the traditional bead cap on her head and other traditional formalities.

The ceremony was attended by the Executive and members of the state Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ, friends and political associates.
