The Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 7 Headquarters, Abuja, AIG Victor Olaiya, has called for community partnership and collaboration to enhance effective Police performance.
He made the call at the Police Zone 7 Headquarters, Abuja, while performing the Groundbreaking ceremony of Zone 7 Entrance gate project initiated by Zone 7 Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC).
The Spokesperson, ASP Halima Mohammed, said the project includes the renovation of the Entrance gate and Building of Security Post.
“AIG Olaiya while giving his special remarks, praised the PCRC’s proactive efforts and reiterating the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to supporting community-led safety initiatives to enhance effective Police performance”.
The Groundbreaking, an initiative of Zone 7 Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) signals a major step forward in strengthening community and Police collaboration within the Zone and its environs.
The event, held with great enthusiasm and high-level attendance, reflected the PCRC’s enduring commitment to safety, partnership, and progress.
Chief Otunba Bolaji Adigun, PCRC Zone 7 Chairman, in a remark, emphasized the importance of the initiative in enhancing community policing and fostering stronger civic engagement.
Goodwill messages were received from notable guests including; Hajia Dr. Zainab Maina, former Minister of Women Affairs; Alhaji Haruna Rasheed, Dr Rufus Ebegba, Chairman PCRC FCT Command, in which they highlighted the critical role of the PCRC in promoting peace, trust and mutual understanding between law enforcement and the communities they serve.
Our Correspondent reports that the symbolic occasion signifies the official commencement of the project, which would further Strengthen bonds between Police officers, Community leaders and developing partners as well as stands as a testament to the shared vision for a safer society.
