The United Kingdom is introducing eVisas for work and study, which implies that most individuals applying for these visas will no longer receive a physical visa sticker in their passport. Instead, successful applicants will be issued a digital eVisa, an online record of their immigration status.
According to Gov
UK,this change is scheduled to take effect for applications submitted and paid for online from July 15, 2025.

“Effective Date:
The new eVisa system will be implemented for online applications submitted on or after July 15, 2025.
Who is affected?
Primarily, this change affects individuals applying for UK work and study visas as the main applicant.
‘No more physical visa stickers:
“Successful applicants will not receive a physical visa sticker in their passport.
“Online eVisa:
Instead, they will receive a digital eVisa, accessible through a UKVI account.
“Biometrics:
Applicants may still need to submit biometrics and can collect their passport on the same day from the Visa Application Centre.
‘Decision notification:
Applicants will still receive a decision on their application via email.
‘Dependents and other visas:
Dependents of main migrants and those applying for other visa types (like visitor visas) will still receive a physical visa sticker.
“Transition:
The UK is phasing out physical visa stickers, with the eVisa system being a key part of this transition according to GOV.UK.
Online account:
