Ukrainian Forces have captured a 29-year-old Nigerian, Kehinde Oluwagbemileke, while fighting for the Russian army in the ongoing war in Ukraine.
According to reports, Kehinde was arrested by the Freedom of Russia Legion, a group made up of Russians who support Ukraine.
He was captured in the Zaporizhzhia region, where heavy battles have been taking place.
Kehinde had been living in Russia for about four years before he was jailed for drug-related crimes.
He later joined the Russian military, reportedly in exchange for a shorter prison sentence.
