The Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 7 Headquarters, AIG Victor Olaiya, has directed the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and Niger State Police Commands to step up vigilance and reinforce security measures across their jurisdictions ahead of Sallah Festival celebrations.
A statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mohammed Halima, says that the directive is part of proactive strategies aimed at safeguarding lives and property during the celebration period.
AIG Olaiya emphasized the importance of robust intelligence gathering, visible policing and strategic deployment of personnel.
He also called for collaboration with critical stakeholders to preempt any form of threat or breach of peace.
The Zonal Command spokesperson assured residents of FCT and Niger State of its unwavering commitment to maintaining law and order throughout the season and beyond.
“Citizens are urged to remain law-abiding and promptly report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station”, the statement advised.
