
At least ninety persons have lost their lives in a tanker explosion in Jigawa state, North West Nigeria.
According to the state Police Command, most of the victims died because they surrounded the scene of the accident.
The Command’s Spokesperson,Shi’tu Adamu who spoke to newsmen said that the incident happened at Majia town in Taura Local Government Area of the state on Tuesday .
He said that 50 other persons sustained injuries and are receiving treatment.
Adam said that “the driver left Kano and was on his way to Nguru in Yobe state when the accident” occurred.
He said ” people gathered around the accident scene, that is the reason for the mass casualty.”
