
Supreme Court says both old and new naira notes will remain legal tender until further notice.
Ruling on the matter on Wednesday, the court said that the old and new naira notes will continue to co- exist until the Federal Government after due consultation with relevant stakeholders,put in place a process to replace or redesign the currency.
The affected denominations are the N200, N500, and N1000 notes
The Court’s decision has put to rest the fear of further emergency naira swap in the fashion of the Emefiele – led Central Bank of Nigeria CBN which unleashed untold hardship on Nigerians.
