
Security operatives early Tuesday morning killed a gang of 5 dreaded criminals in Rivers State.
The gang led by, Onuigwe Nwodi was linked to several criminal activities such as kidnapping, and armed robbery along the Emohua axis of the East west road.
Local sources say that the criminals had been on the run and were hiding in the home of a friend of theirs at Graeme polo ( compound) Okrika when suspected operatives of the Department of State Services stormed the hideout and killed them in a fierce gun battle.

In what appeared to be a discrete mission, the operatives, according to the source also swooped on other criminals in Ogoloma and Okari communities and neutralised them.
Nwodi and members of his gang were said to be responsible for the kidnap of Justice Azunda,a protocol officer to Emeka Woke, the former Chief of Staff to ex – Rivers Governor , Nyesom Wike..

Before Nwodi and his gang met their death on Tuesday, the Chairman of Emohua Local Government Council,Dr Chidi Lloyd had placed a N2 million bounty on Nwodi for his notoriety.
