The Chief Judge of Osun State, Justice Adepele Oyebola Ojo has issued death sentence to the owner of Hilton Hotel,Ile Ife, Osun state,Dr Ramon Adedoyin
Adedoyin, is to die by hanging over the murder of Timothy Adegoke,a post graduate student of the Obafemi Awolowo University
Adegoke went missing after lodging at Hilton Hotel in November 2021. .
His family lodged a complaint and the police commenced investigation which led to the arrest of the owner of the hotel and six employees.
The court found Adedoyin guilty of the Adegoke’s murder
In her ruling Tuesday,Justice Ojo said circumstantial evidence proved that Adedoyin was responsible for the murder of Adegoke.
The judge said that Adedoyin’s decision not to enter the witness box did not help him, as the circumstantial evidence had shifted the burden of proof on him.
She dismissed the alibi who said the hotel owner was in Abuja for many days around the time the OAU student was killed.
The court discharged and acquitted of charges, four employees prosecuted along with Adedoyin while he was sentenced to death by hanging.
