The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the March 18 gubernatorial election in Enugu state, Peter Mbah has been declared winner in the election said to be tough.
He scored 174289 votes to defeat his closest rival, Barr Chijioke Edeoga of the LP who polled 157542 votes.
Collation had been halted since last night following issues concerning votes from Nkanu East LGA.
PDP supporters had been protesting the delay in the final announcement since the resumption of collation.
The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC had a few hours ago suspended the collation of results for Abia and Enugu state over irregularities.
