
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested a former Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Niger Delta Development Commission ( NDDC),Obong Nsima Ekere for alleged diversion of the Commission’s funds to the tune of N47 billion.
This was made known by Wilson Uwujaren, Head, Media and Public Relations on Channels TV on Wednesday.
Mr Ekere was appointed in July 2016 and served the commission for two years .He was also the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress APC ( Akwa Ibom) in 2019 election.
The arrest of Ekere by the EFCC comes two days after the agency took in custody Accountant General of the Federation, Ahmed Idris for alleged N80BILLION fraud.
