A High Court in Abuja has stopped the All Progressives Congress (APC )Convention fixed for March 16 from being held.
In a suit filed by one Salisu Umoru, seeking the prayer of the court to restrain the APC, Mai Mala Buni and the Independent National Electoral Commission( INEC) from conducting the said convention pending the determination of the suit, Justice Bello Kawu gave the order restraining the defendants saying that the case in question is now under judicial consideration.
The plaintiff also filed a contempt application against the APC convention claiming that the inauguration of sub -committees for the March 26 National Convention when the order of the honourable court has yet to be vacated is a demonstration of disrespect for the rule of law.
Hearing for continuation of substantive suit has been fixed for 30th March while no datte has been fixed for proceeding of suit on contempt.
