Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court Abuja has ordered 16 members of the Ebonyi State House of Assembly to vacate their seats following their defection from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress
In a judgement on Tuesday, Justice Ekwo ordered the lawmakers to stop parading themselves as representatives of the people after defecting from the party on which platform they were elected to another platform.
The judge had earlier sacked Governor Dave Umahi and his Deputy Kelechi Igwe
He held that for decamping to the All Progressives Congress APC, the number of votes which secured victory for the governor and his deputy belonged to the PDP through which they earned the victory.
